Always speak the truth and inculcate constancy in truth.
This is the basic foundation on which all religious and social principles can be established perfectly.
2nd commandment of twelve commandments of Lord Shree Shree Harichand Thakur-
Treat the woman-folk as your's mother. One can achieve purity in heart by earnestly following this directive as "lust" is bound to be abolished from mind by following and observing this noble principle.
3rd commandment of twelve commandments of Lord Shree Shree Harichand Thakur-
Always respect your parents. This is the first step towards respect to Religion, Philosophy and God.
4th commandment of twelve commandments of Lord Shree Shree Harichand Thakur-
Always treat your neighbours and all earthly living beings with love, pity and kindness.
This principle, when followed in practice, can remove all enmity and jealousy from human mind and thus can pave the way of fraternity and universal peace.
5th commandment of twelve commandments of Lord Shree Shree Harichand Thakur-
Never nourish racial antagonism.
This principle can be a solid foundation of universal brotherhood amongst the various Races of mankind.
6th commandment of twelve commandments of Lord Shree Shree Harichand Thakur-
Bring under your control all the six passions of mind.
These six passions of mind are: Lust, Anger, Greed, Infatuation, Pride and Jealousy. These passions need be controlled with utmost sincerity, as these are the real enemies of a man.
7th commandment of twelve commandments of Lord Shree Shree Harichand Thakur-
Be tolerant to all other religions and creed.
Quarrels and enmity for the sake of any and every religion can be avoided once for all, if this noble principle is followed in practice by all.
8th commandment of twelve commandments of Lord Shree Shree Harichand Thakur-
Avoid saintly dress to adorn yourself with and become honest in mind and activities.
Outward saintly dress to adorn oneself cannot decorate a man perfectly, but purity in thoughts and behaviour is the essence which can transform him as a "super man".
9th commandment of twelve commandments of Lord Shree Shree Harichand Thakur-
Do your duties devotedly and utter the sacred "Hari-nama" simultaneously with reverence.
One who performs his duties with the holy name of God in his mind cannot commit wrong to others.
10th commandment of twelve commandments of Lord Shree Shree Harichand Thakur-
Erect a temple of pure thoughts in your heart and soul and a temple of Shree Hari at your dwelling place.
The temple of God can certainly attract our mind towards God when we can erect a temple of pure thoughts in our soul.
11th commandment of twelve commandments of Lord Shree Shree Harichand Thakur-
Pray to God everyday with devotion and sanctity.
Prayers to God can remove all sins of us and hence prayers with devotion have been recommended as daily affairs for attainment of peace, progress and harmony.
12th commandment of twelve commandments of Lord Shree Shree Harichand Thakur-
Sacrifice yourself to the cause of God.
Cause of God is the cause of universal peace of mankind at large. Hence, this doctrine is immensely valuable.

The gist of these "twelve commandments" of Shree Shree Harichand Thakur teaches us to be honest in our thoughts and deeds and of be a saint without leaving our house-hold duties and own business. The system of activities and line of application of Harichand's "Matua cult" differ herein from these of Shree Gourangadev (Lord Chaitanya).
